Big Ticket Items

Don't even think about looking at this post if you don't want to see money out the door. With my birthday and the holidays coming up everyone asked me this year what would I like... I would always say, "honestly... nothing." But Honestly: nothing cheap. I don't mean that in a harsh way, like I don't want inexpensive presents. I welcome presents of all shapes, sizes, and price ranges (even free, because sometimes those are the best). But as far as an actual "dream present" you're going to be looking in your wallets going, "Um, no." So I didn't answer that question to the best of my abilities. Here is the list of expensive items that I don't expect to get, but they are dream items:
Gutters for the house all the way around
Fans in all the rooms (we have one in the living room, so bedrooms and office)
Cord hiders (it's hard to explain, but if you've seen our TV set-up, something to hide those cables)
Stuff to paint the nursery with (paints, drop cloths, brushes, etc)

Less pricy ticket items:
Computer bag, something lightweight and can hold a 17" laptop.

Kitchen Fun

Okay, with the pleathora kitchen supplies we got for the wedding you'd think I wouldn't need/want anything more for it. Wrong!

I loooooovvee baking, especially if they're cutesie baking pans. Every place that has kitchen supplies these days has fun baking pans. There are ones that look like trains, castles, animals, flowers, etc. Anything you can think of for a cake to look like, there's a pan for it. Right now I have a cake pan that looks like a huge cupcake. It's very fun to use. I also recieved a wonderful bunt cake pan for my birthday from Heather, and a fun WS bugs pan for the wedding.

We got a wonderful canister set we had registered for from Williams-Sonoma, and it has been used well. WS has since added a bread box and recipe box in the same style. It's the "white ceramic and stainless steel" style that they have. The labels are where the steel is. The bread box is only available on-line, and is currently on sale. The recipe box is only available in stores, and is about the same price. Chris and I would love to complete this set for our new kitchen.

Oh, I almost forgot! They also have lotion and soap dispensers that match. But if I had to choose, I would go with the first two mentioned.

Tales of Beedle the Bard

JK Rowling's newest book just came out: The Tales of Beedle the Bard.

No it's not another Harry Potter. JK wrote this one just for her kids after HP. There were originally only fourcopies made: three for her kids, and one to auction off for a children's charity (Children's High Level Group charity). Amazon (as in amazon.com) got the winning bid. With a promise to donate some proceeds to the CHLG charity, Amazon has exclusively republished TOBB. There are two different versions: the Collector's Edition and the Standard Edition.
The Standard Edition has come out as a hardcover (for now) with a cover by the same artist who did HP.
The coveted Collector's Edition is made to closely resemble the original printing. The original first publishing of TOBB was placed in a leather-bound, jewel-encrusted, silver-leafed version with JK doing the all illustrations. The Collector's Edition also includes 10 additional illustrations not found in the original. The TOBB book, complete with metal skull and replica gemstones, and bonus illustrations are sent tucked away in it's own velvet-lined case disguised as a wizarding textbook.

Of course, I want both editions. The Collector's Edition because it is very limited and very coveted (and very beautiful): thus making it almost "sacred" as far as personal libraries go. The Standard Edition because I want to actually read it, and read it to my kids. The Collector's Edition I would hand down, hopefully, generations.

I'm so excited that they came out today! It's wonderful that it's going to charity. I'm such a (I can't think of a good word) when it comes to books. I hope to one day fullfill my dream of a wonderful personal library that I can share with others that looks like all the ones in the movies.

Wedding Registry Gifts

The wedding is over, but the registries are still available to purchase from. Those would probably be the best possible wish lists I could provide at this time for both Chris and myself. We're registered at JCPenney's, Kohls, Bed-Bath-&-Beyond, and WilliamsSonoma. So we have a lot of places and items to choose from with all different price ranges.

Crinkle-ware

I came across these really cool porcelain cups that look like they've been crushed. The more I looked, the more I found out there was! There's also milk containers, coffee cups, fry holders, etc. Look around, because there's plenty of price differences for them. They are so cool and unique!

Alright, this is an updated version of the movie file. I've seperated it and put in just a few of the more expensive items on it. The list at the bottom is still good to go off of for the lesser expensive items.
Remember, it's not the price, it's the thought. I'm just trying to make this list a little easier to follow.

Box Sets:

Reminder note: I like special/ultimate/platnum editions. Not all movies have a special edition, but it's a good bet that most do. And if there's a choice, go with widescreen, please. That way you get everything in the shot the way the director ment for it to be seen. Also as far as movies go, it's a safe bet and you can always find them cheap on the internet. Check out ebay for low prices. Also campusi.com will automatically look for the best deals on all the big sites so you find it the cheapest.

Holiday Memories

Okay everyone. I've come to terms of what I really want in life: stuff and money. But as for the stuff, I'm into cutsie stuff. Especiallly for the holidays. Disney is my IT store right now. I love the ornaments for Tinkerbell and her friends (especially the mini ornaments) and the Tink tree topper. Also, there are Jessica Rabbit items available online at EBay only, apparently. I love the doll, but it is way expensive. Also there are ornaments, a jewelry box, and fun lapel pins. I am a fan of Jessica Rabbit, not necessarily Roger. Go Figure.

UPDATE: Due to the "R&R Christmas Tour 2006" I obtained some of these items: (Thanks Riches!) Tinkerbell tree topper, the mini Tinkerbell ornaments, mini Princess ornaments. I already owned: the basic Jessica Rabbit lapel pin and the PattiCake Lounge lapel Pin.

Dark Tink

I've come to discover that my favorite store has the combination of both worlds: Goth and Disney. Hot Topics, a wonderful store found in most malls and now online at http://www.hottopic.com, has this brand (also minimally found at the disneystore.com) called "DARK TINK". It's sooo cool. Here's a picture of the throw I've gotten.

So far I just have the throw, satin pillow set, and comforter cover (not a comforter, but like a duvette cover). I think this style is very cool, and they've got a whole line out of car things that would look just awesome in my new car. wink, wink. I just love the whole "sketched" look of the traditional Dinsey characters. Hot Topics also did this to some Care Bears, and it was way cool. I bought the bedroom set (sheets and pillow cases) for Chris, and they look way cool, and brings a rock and roll life to our childhood memories. I'm not quite Laura Ashley/Martha Stewart phase, because I'm not out of my teenage rocker years. Okay, honestly: when will I ever grow out of my childhood phase? I decorate my room going "my kids are going to love this stuff!"

UPDATE: Due to the "R&R Christmas Tour 2006" I obtained some of these items: (Thanks Chris!) The fuzzy dice, a seat cover, two car mats, and wheel cover. I already owned: satin sheets with pillow covers, black throw, and duvette cover.

Books, books, books!!! What more could a person like me, who wants to own her own library, want than millions of books? Books are worth more if they are first edition/print, signed by the author/illustrator, hardback, and/or non-movie editions. But that doesn't mean that you have to get me those. I love paperbacks, because then I feel like I can travel with it.
Children's books have interested me here lately.
Airplane thrillers are nice, too.

I'm very into movie memorabilia. Anything that was on the set, part of the set, a special edition item, press kit, or was a cast/crew present, crew item, or autographed or in progress scripts. If it was autographed or a certified piece it's worth more (and considerably harder to find).

Alright, here's where things get tough. I like music. I like listening to music. I like most any music. So, I'll try and list CD's I don't have, but would like to. Most are going to be internet finds (again campusi.com is a fieldsave for this) because some are really hard to find, while others are amazingly mainstream.

Clothes

Due to work, I'm probably not the best person to get brand new clothes. If you'd like to get me a gift card feel free. I have a section about gift cards and where to get them from.
But if you are set on getting me clothes, feel good. This is where you won't have to spend a lot of money.

Socks
I love toe socks. They're so fun. Also any kind of fun/character socks (happy bunny, pooh, scooby, etc). Size Small.

Underwear
Always a must. Size 7.

Bras
It's best just to get me a gift certificate so I can find the type I like on these. They have to meet so many requirements.

Tops
If they're cute, or have a cool phrase ("Go for it! Life's not a rehersal"), theatre related is always good. I'm a small in Tees... but if it's a baby tee, Medium would be better
Also, I'm a big tank top wearer, because then I can layer it. So tank tops are always welcome, in a medium.
Which means that overshirts are welcome. Right now I really like pearl-snap long sleeve shirts. I'm a small/medium, depending on where and what section you get it from.
Bottoms
Jeans are always nice. I'm liking these GAP jeans I've got: Size 10, Ankle. Flaire cut. Also, sounds weird but they fit nice, in the boy's section: Bootfit 32x32... or 30 in length is even better. American Eagle puts out a pair I like in size 8, but I don't know the style (probably flaire)... but it's best just to give gift certificates to these places.
PJ bottoms are always nice. Medium.
